THE FIVE MEN

The Five Men is a series with a visual narrative about encounters with five different men and love relationships that never reached their full potential. Each portrait forms a chapter in a personal journey through intimacy, longing, separation, and memory.

The men’s faces are created in clay as an interpretation of the masks people wear, an exploration of the parts of ourselves that remain inaccessible to others. The sculptural garments, made of cardboard and lime paint, function as symbols of the roles, expectations, and protective structures we build around ourselves in our encounters with the world and with one another.

Through the classical portrait format, the series examines the fragility of love and the traces that other people leave within us. The five figures become both tangible memories of relationships that once existed and universal images of human connection, loss, and the fragments of the past that continue to live on within us.
